Wood and silky smooth travertine elements shape this 250 square metre luxury home interior. Designed by Studio Denew, this chic residence is light-filled and spacious, with high ceilings and high-end furniture. Furnishings follow a laconic palette of cream and greige, and area rugs are unadorned and understated. The refined decor palette allows the thread of bespoke wood and travertine details to retain the spotlight without becoming overpowered by bright colour or pattern. The result is a peaceful, reposeful living space, soothing bedrooms and relaxing bathroom designs where homeowners can be rejuvenated. Fashionable fluted textures flow throughout, along with uplifting infusions of indoor greenery, and gentle lighting schemes.
In the luxurious living room, a spectacular modern chandelier rains down into the centre of the lounge furniture arrangement. An L-shaped sofa design skims the edge of the room, whilst two modern lounge chairs subtly separate the lounge from the adjoining kitchen diner.
A smooth travertine slab floats across a wood grain clad partition to create a sleek TV wall. Illuminated shelves display books and decorative items at one end.
A small courtyard supplies the large living room with an uplifting green view.
Between the modern lounge chairs, a
small side table has a light, translucent presence.
As we move over into the formal dining area, we discover a striking installation of smoked globe pendant lights. The dark dining table complements the tinted glass, whilst a set of eight modern dining chairs lighten the look with cream upholstery. Fluted glass distorts the contents of an illuminated curio cabinet behind the contemporary dining set.
Decorative vases are paired to make a chic table centrepiece. Their light ceramic finish complements the lightly coloured dining chairs. Relief art makes subtle dining room wall decor.
Directly adjacent to the dining area, the kitchen is open plan with a central island. Three kitchen bar stools line up along its edge to form a casual breakfast bar area. Two linear suspension lights fall at different heights to create a layered look that spans the full length of the dining bar. Behind, a combination of colour-matched cream kitchen units and wood effect cabinets make up a crisply contrasting design.
The waterfall worktop wraps the island with beautiful cream travertine.
A wine glass suggests that the breakfast bar may be better utilised as a wine bar.
On the opposite side of the living room TV wall, the wood effect cladding morphs into hallway storage units.
Large format travertine floor tiles flood throughout the home, from the living room to the hallway. A couple of indoor planters flank a tall picture window, bringing the outdoors inside.
Why have one entryway stool when you can have two? On the opposite side of the foyer, a couple of poufs team up with a floating shelf unit and a duo of linear wall lights. Custom-cut mirrors are installed between columns of travertine, which creates the illusion of increased space and added light.
A home office is situated on the opposite side of the house from the living room, where work can be completed in peace and quiet.
A small sofa and side table make up a comfy lounge in the home office. A mature indoor plant gives the space a homey feel. Cream storage units blend with the light walls, whilst wood grain panels provide a moment of warmth.
The modern desk design is paired with a stylish swivel chair.
A linear suspension light evenly illuminates the desk to provide practical task lighting. Built-in shelves house reference books.
A plethora of lush indoor plants flourish inside of the master bedroom, where they complement rich walnut wall panelling.
The end of bed bench is matched to the cream bed upholstery to achieve one cohesive aesthetic.
The headboard wall design features another installation of custom-cut mirrors, spliced this time with fluted gypsum wall panels.
Plush drapes fall in deep folds that complement the ribbed wall texture. They also drop behind the wall-mounted TV to complete one seamless wraparound effect.
A black bedside table contrasts darkly with the light bed upholstery.
LED strips brightly light the clothing rails.
Designer shoes and handbags are kept clean behind glass doors, and lit atmospherically from within.
Inside the luxurious ensuite master bathroom, fluted glass doors seal off the WC.
A unique bathroom sink is underlined with a sleek black storage unit. Black and white bathroom lights exaggerate the contrasting decor palette.
The freestanding bathtub is framed by a peaceful view of the private garden.
A glass partition divides the WC from the shower area.
Inside the shower space design, travertine tiles are both smooth and routed to achieve a visually interesting finish.
The second bedroom in the house has a wood and travertine headboard wall, which gains added attention via a striking pendant light feature at one side of the upholstered bed.
A small floor lamp lights the opposite side of the bed, and a modern bedside table.
A cream bedroom rug complements the cream travertine wall decor.
The simple TV wall is underlined with a contemporary black TV stand.
Perimeter LEDs provide soft atmospheric lighting.
Luxurious travertine encases the central bathroom, which is situated close to the front door for guests, and close by the second bedroom for convenience.
Recessed LEDs wash a glow of golden light down the wall of the shower space.
The toilet cistern is concealed within the travertine walls for a streamlined look.
