House & Home – DIY: Patterned Christmas Crackers

Craft some celebratory crackers to accommodate your home’s palette. Putting them casually in a bowl lets attendees pick out the cracker that speaks to them the most.

What You will Will need:

  • You are going to require sheets of scrapbooking paper (12″ x 12″)
  • Wrapping paper (for contrasting overlay)
  • Cardstock (for template)
  • Cardboard tubes
  • Scissors, tape or a glue gun
  • Ribbon
  • Cracker “snappers” (available via Etsy)
  • Sizzle (crimped paper)
  • Favors this kind of as sweets, markers or toys (may well not be suitable for modest small children).

How-to:

1. Print a 6″ x 6″ zigzag template on cardstock and slice out the form.

2. Lower a piece of 12″ x 12″ scrapbooking paper in 50 %. Fold the paper inward so the edges meet up with in entrance. Trace the template on the again of the paper and snip the folded edges in triangles to create diamond scoring to make it less complicated to cinch the cracker with ribbons.

3. Lower a cardboard tube into 4 1⁄4″-extended sections. Thread the tube with a cracker snapper (available through Etsy), then include candies and small favors within the tube, tucking sizzle paper into the ends.

4. Wrap the scrapbook paper all-around the tube and affix with tape, or with a glue gun for a tidier glance.

5. Knot the ribbons around the scored sections and incredibly hot glue the overlapping stop seams with each other so they lie flat.

6. Slash out a contrasting piece of wrapping paper approximately 4 1⁄2″ x 6″ for the overlay. Wrap the overlay all over the cracker and warm glue the seams shut.
