With the Aussie love for outdoor entertaining showing no signs of abating, we’re always on the hunt for fabulous alfresco finds. Rather timely, Castlery‘s new outdoor furniture collection has just landed and the range has a focus on materiality while being sturdy, weather-resistant and reasonably priced.
“Over the last two years, it’s evident that outdoor spaces have never been more important to us, particularly in Australia, for summer and beyond. People expect their outdoor area to be as stylish and comfortable as the rest of their home, without compromising aesthetics for durability,” says Castlery co-founder Declan Ee.
Malta collection
The Malta outdoor collection is crafted with weather-resistant Olefin cushions. The prominent round shapes and curved edges are an elevated take on traditional outdoor design and are made from a dense wicker handwoven onto an aluminium frame.
“We draw inspiration from everywhere and we know customers are loving the organic, freeform shapes that we’ve been using in our interior furniture. The bold curved silhouette of the Malta creates a harmonious outdoor space,” says Declan.
Rio collection
Inspired by the popularity of teak used aboard boats, the handcrafted elements of the Rio collection infuse solid teak with a rustic feel. Highly durable, the hard teak wood will develop a rich patina over time, while the hand strung cord detailing on the backrest is a subtle nod to the knots used in sailing.
You can mix and match between dining chairs and a cushioned bench to create a set that suits your needs – the dining table is available in three sizes and the bench comes in two sizes. This setting is perfect for emulating the laidback resort vibes reminiscent of a Bali escape. From $799.
Sierra collection
The Sierra collection has a refined bohemian aesthetic and puts a minimalist twist on classic wicker. The light blonde wicker stands out against a contrasting black aluminium frame whilst a honey-hued resin tabletop is softened with rounded edges and comfy cushions.
The hand-laced PE wicker is designed to closely mimic the tones of natural rattan but engineered to endure the elements so you can enjoy the look of rattan without worrying about mildew or unravelling cords making it perfect for the humidity of Australian summers. This collection is available for dining and living and the modular design caters to a variety of outdoor spaces. From $449.

Designed with functionality in mind, the table features a foldable tabletop meaning you can pack it down if space is an issue and you can pair it with the Como Dining Chair or the rustic handwoven Newport Dining Chair. $699.
