Building permits reflect commercial, housing growth | Local News

The City of Washington issued numerous building permits in October, including seven residential construction permits with a total valuation of more than $3.57 million and commercial alteration or repair permits totaling more than $1.52 million.

The commercial permits included a $900,000 project to renovate the interior tenant space for the new Chase Bank Retail Banking Center and $600,000 to renovate the former Level 9 Heating & Cooling building on Highway A, which will be used for a new homeless shelter to be operated by the group Life’s River.
