‘Creepy’ Easter bunny haunts home sale listing: ‘Thing of nightmares’

New York real estate agent Marissa DelVecchio thought she had a hare-larious idea — but for some, it was just an unsettling surprise.

Pictures of a cozy Rochester house for sale showcased the exterior and interior, per usual, in its online home listing.

But in a twist, some spaces in the four-bedroom, 2½-bath house also featured DelVecchio as a human-sized Easter bunny with pink ears, buck teeth and a shiny blue waistcoat.

DelVecchio hopped into view looking in a refrigerator, sitting on an armchair and even lying on a bed — all of which divided viewers, who couldn’t decide if it was creepy or creative.

“We were all getting a kick out of it, and coming up with some creative ideas as to where I could be placed in the house,” the RE/MAX Realty Group real estate agent told South West News Service.

“We’ve had a good amount of showings on the property, which has been great — I’m not sure whether it’s because of this or not,” she continued. “It’s cool to see how the internet has taken it and run with it.”

Despite some negative feedback, DelVecchio thought it was an egg-cellent idea — as did the homeowners looking to unload the abode.

“The sellers were all for it,” she said. “They were laughing at me as I was taking the photos.”

It’s not the first time the ear-resistible real estate agent has taken a festive theme and run with it, having proudly pulled on various costumes — including a gorilla and a Thanksgiving-appropriate turkey — over the years.

“If our clients like it, we sometimes bring some light-heartedness and fun to what is sometimes a stressful and anxious process for people,” she shared.

The listing was shared on social media, with Reddit and Facebook users laughing about — or horrified by — the sassy snaps.

“Nope. That’s the thing of nightmares right there!” one user commented.

“No, I would not like to buy a house haunted by a ghost rabbit,” one less-than-thrilled peruser added.

“I don’t get why some of the pictures are cute and some are killer bunny creepy,” another groaned.

“That was pretty stressful, flipping through all the photos, wondering when the bunny was going to pop up again,” admitted one dubious house hunter.

Others thought the Easter-themed photoshoot was a genius concept.

“That’s such a cute idea. Good luck with the sale!” one wrote.

“Sweet baby Jesus this is amazing,” another joked.
