Even though we design beautiful spaces for our clients every day, we are always on the hunt for inspiration from other designers. As we look ahead this year and expand Centered by Design’s services beyond Chicago, here are four favorite interior designers we’re admiring for their ideas and creativity. Learn more about each of them and get inspired.
This L.A.-based designer continually catches our eye for her brilliant use of color and pattern. Her designs are so wildly creative, playful and interesting, and never ostentatious.
We love how livable her spaces appear — you can almost picture yourself there, walking into a space like it’s your own home and sitting down with a cup of coffee. This particular project of Merrill’s has been an inspiration to us on a recent craftsman house we’ve remodeled. You can learn more about her style here.
The founder of this legendary London-based firm was known for his work on the homes of the Royal Family before his passing in 2022. We admire his team for the way they incorporate antiques and textiles into designs so magnificently, with spaces that are the perfect blend of traditional and modern.
One particular philosophy we borrow from Robert Kime is the notion of starting a room with a rug. We love to do this in our own designs, beginning with a rug as a starting point for color and pattern to help bring a room’s story together.
No one makes decorating look easier, simpler or more timeless than London’s Rose Unaicke. Each of her designs has an ethereal appeal.
Though she’s more restrained than other designers when it comes to color, this approach enables her focus on beautiful forms and furniture to shine through. We often look to emulate her architectural details, such as gorgeous fireplaces, particularly in historic homes. Her London shop looks dreamy, too. Read more about Rose’s design ethos here.
This Portland, Oregon-based designer specializes in highly customized kitchens, so it’s no surprise we look up to her work! (Learn about our premium kitchen design and custom cabinetry here.) Whenever one of our clients references a Jessica space when working with us, we take that as a huge compliment.
As an architecturally focused designer, her rooms feature exceptional cabinetry and millwork. We also love how she incorporates historically referenced elements even in new homes. Learn more about Jessica here.
