MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A practically 180-calendar year-previous church creating in Oxford, Mississippi went up in flames Saturday evening, the Lafayette County Fireplace Department reported in a information launch.
Crews have been known as at 11 p.m. for a report of visible flames at University Hill Presbyterian Church on County Highway 102. By the time they arrived a handful of minutes later on, they claimed the hearth had spread via the rear of the construction and the attic.
Firefighters ended up pulled out of the inside as the building’s structural integrity deteriorated. All units have been cleared at 3:20 a.m. Sunday.
No injuries ended up reported. The cause of the fireplace is beneath investigation.
