In 2012, beloved English kitchen area model deVOL transformed a 16th-century drinking water mill into their headquarters. The historic, 5-story building, which is located on the banking companies of the River Soar in rural Leicestershire, homes both equally company offices and elaborate showrooms. Though updates have been created to accommodate the corporation, original elements like major beams, mullioned home windows, creaky floorboards, and wobbly partitions continue being.
“There are many evidences of its heritage as a mill, like wheels and pulleys and hatches for decreasing grain,” claims deVOL inventive director Helen Parker. “Each room is distinct, permitting us to make strange and inspiring displays that give a perception of dwelling instead than a showroom.”
That cozy residential vibe is especially apparent in the Heirloom Collection Kitchen, the newest showroom at Cotes Mill. With a burgundy and blush colour scheme and old-globe information like an outsized plate rack and linen cupboard curtains, the cook dinner house oozes countryside charm. The only thing missing is a sweet grandmother chopping vegetables at the European oak and Carrara marble dairy table. Let us choose a nearer glance.
