Alabama softball will start postseason play versus Missouri at the SEC Tournament in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Wednesday.
The game was scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. on SEC Network. In the eighth inning of Game 2, there was a lightning delay that started at 4:05 p.m., there need to be at least 30 minutes without a lightning strike before the game can resume with South Carolina leading Texas A&M, 1-0. Once that game ends, Alabama-Missouri will start 35 minutes after.
The Crimson Tide earned a series win over the Tigers earlier this season, but the Tigers run-ruled Alabama in the finale.
The 5-seeded Crimson Tide (38-17) is coming off a series win over Ole Miss, in part due to a perfect game by Montana Fouts. Alabama had a chance for the sweep but allowed four runs in the final inning to be walked off 5-4 by the Rebels.
The 13-seeded Tigers (34-23) picked up a series win over Arkansas, its only SEC series win of the season. After losing 8-0 on Friday, they responded with a 4-3 win on Saturday and the series-clinching 7-6 win on Sunday. The Tigers beat Mississippi State 3-1 in the first round on Tuesday.
