Our Bamboo Shades: Layers of Warmth and Texture

We recently bought new bamboo shades for our main floor! You might have seen them in our kitchen reveal or Christmas mantel post, but you may not have realized they were new! They were affordable and readily available so I was excited to be able to get this project done before the holidays.

We loved the original blinds too, but they were starting to fall apart and we wanted cordless for safety, so we decided to replace them all at once.

One of the first things we planned to add/replace once our kitchen was finished was the bamboo shades, so this has always been in our plans. While they weren’t absolutely necessary for privacy in our home, I always love the texture they add to a room. I saved so many beautiful blinds and gathered samples over the past year trying to decide which ones we wanted, but I didn’t want to move forward with any decision until the renovation was otherwise complete.

Since the kitchen took quite a bit longer than we planned (as well as being an extensive project),we were not only on a limited budget but also a short timeline to add shades before the holidays! Luckily we found these shades which were affordable and readily available. Plus they had the right sizes available for our windows! They were so easy to install and come in several color options.

You can find the exact bamboo shades we ordered HERE (ours are in russet).

We will have few more shades to order for other rooms in our home at some point, but it feels good to have this crossed off of our list of “main floor” projects.
