Taylor Swift jet tracker: Live flight updates on Super Bowl plane from Tokyo to Las Vegas

The only thing more exciting than the Super Bowl? Flying around the world to watch it up close.

It’s been an NFL season like no other with Taylor Swift in the stands. The 14-time Grammy winner and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce lit up the world with the news of their relationship, and five months later, she will be traveling across the globe to see him try to bring home the gold. Hard to have imagined that during the last Super Bowl.

Now, Swift is one of the biggest stories in the NFL — so much so that the news of her concert possibly conflicting with the Super Bowl was the worst thing you ever heard.

Fear not, though. The singer is a mastermind, and she likely has plans in place to make it to Las Vegas for Kelce.

The Sporting News will provide updates of Taylor Swift’s journey from Tokyo to Las Vegas as they become available (all times ET).

6:34 p.m. — Touchdown! Or rather, touch down. The plane has landed in Los Angeles. It will now need to find a place to park so she can de-plane.

6:31 p.m. — Swift’s plane has been cleared for the final approach.

6:25 p.m. — Five minutes, folks. Five minutes to go. Her plane is over Los Angeles.

6:19 p.m. — Just under 10 minutes to go. The plane is currently above Thousand Oaks.

6:14 p.m. — Less than 15 minutes away now. Her plane is just about over land.

5:52 p.m. — The countdown is on. Swift is just over 30 minutes away from landing in Los Angeles.

4:25 p.m. — Los Angeles is in sight. Well, maybe not just yet. But The Football Era jet is now halfway between Hawaii and California, with just under two hours to go until it arrives at 3:19 p.m. PT.

1:50 p.m. — Swift didn’t just have The Football Era ready. She apparently had a second jet ready in case there were any issues. Appropriately, the second jet appears to be called The Backup Quarterback.

1:09 p.m. — Swift has passed over the international date line. The ETA has not changed much, now being listed as 2:35 p.m. PT.

12 p.m. — Swift’s flight is en route to Los Angeles, currently over the Pacific Ocean, and has an ERA of 2:22 p.m. PT, about two hours earlier than the original time listed by the flight.

10:35 a.m. — Taylor Swift is on her way back to the United States, according to Flight Radar. Swift is expected to be traveling on board the charter flight VJT993, which took off from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport at 11:36 p.m. local time. The plane is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 4:21 p.m. PT Saturday.

The jet’s info listed on Flight Radar includes a name The Football Era, a playful nod to fans hoping Swift would attend Super Bowl 58.

Tokyo to Las Vegas flight time

Flight time from Tokyo to Las Vegas is around 12 hours and should take no longer than that with a private plane. Swift is performing an Eras Tour show in Tokyo the day before the Super Bowl, but with help from time change, she should have ample time to fly to Nevada after the end of her concert.

Indeed, the U.S. Embassy of Japan has confirmed she could make it in time.

What time is it in Tokyo?

Tokyo is 17 hours ahead of Las Vegas, which is in the Pacific Time Zone.

Swift will take the stage at 6 p.m. Saturday in Japan to put on a three-hour show. By the time she gets off the stage and ready to jet set back to the US on Saturday, it will be no later than 10 p.m. in Tokyo.
