Tray Chic or Pondering the Usefulness of the Serving Tray

Gotta love a tray. Yes a tray. That thing you plonk your TV dinner on when you’re too lazy to sit at the table. That tray you get out when you have too many cups to carry, or you need to get burgers from the kitchen to the barbie. It’s useful I’ll give it that. And I’ll bet you’ve got quite a few of them tucked between the cupboards, or heaven forbid on top of them.

But there’s so much more to the humble tray.

It can’t really have escaped your attention that it’s one of the most used tools in a stylist’s deep and heavy tool box. Things look so much better grouped together on a tray. Not forgetting the rule of three, and that you should gather items of different shapes and heights, you can soon have a coffee table to rival any on Instagram. It’s the perfect place for a candle, some flowers, and your favourite trinkets. But don’t just stop there. Exactly how many things accumulate on the bedside cabinet? Around the bathroom basin, or even on the kitchen counter?

You can never have too many trays.
