Kitchen of the Week: A Pearl-Like Cook Space in Portland, OR

When we initially posted on this smooth-colored loft in Portland’s Pearl District, the reviews poured in: “Great sensation.” “Lovely, very simple cabinets.” “Beautiful overall, and the cat box bathroom alternative is genius!” (a detail admired by a several viewers).

These days we’re having a nearer glimpse at the kitchen area, redone, in addition to the rest of the space, by Portland-dependent interior designer Jessica Helgerson. Be part of us:

Above: House owner Pam Williams imagined about vacating her worn-down loft apartment—until she saw yet another unit in the building that Helgerson had redone. Modifying tack, she marketed all of her household furniture and hired Helgerson who, with her team, which include guide designer Mira Eng-Goetz, stripped the loft back again to a shell of alone, leaving its red-brick walls and first home windows. Then, they re-fitted the interiors largely with space-conserving crafted-ins.

Earlier mentioned: The so-named “rainy working day room” just opposite is elevated a bit off the ground, with a developed-in couch-slash-visitor mattress and desk—multiple features in a person petite house. (Take note the kitchen area and the GamFratesi cell mirrored in the mirror.)
