NFL Pro Bowl flag football final score, highlights: Skills events fuel NFC to second-straight all-star win over AFC

There’s not much better than beating your older brother. Twice.

Once again, Eli Manning and the NFC take down Peyton Manning and the AFC in the NFL Pro Bowl with a score of 64-59.

The skills events are what sealed the deal. The NFC won Madden head-to-head, move the chains, gridiron gauntlet, tug of war and best catch on Sunday for 18 total points. While the AFC won the flag football game handily, 50-34, it earned only nine extra Pro Bowl points with wins in the kick-tac-toe, high stakes and dodgeball.

The AFC had a chance to walk it off, having interception a pass right in front of the end zone with three minutes left. They couldn’t drive it back for a score, unfortunately, despite a strong game from rookie CJ Stroud and Keenan Allen. The two couldn’t connect on the final fourth down.

For Baker Mayfield, he capped off the best year of his career with offensive MVP honors. He found two touchdowns during the second half, which included a connection with former Oklahoma teammate CeeDee Lamb. Demario Davis earned the Pro Bowl’s defensive MVP.

Pro Bowl flag football score, results and highlights

All times Eastern.

Final: AFC 59, NFC 64

5:50 p.m. – Stroud’s pass to Allen on fourth down is no good! The NFC wins its second straight Pro Bowl.

5:40 p.m. – It’s picked! Mayfield is intercepted in front of the goal line by Hamilton. With just under three minutes remaining, the AFC needs to score for a chance to win the Pro Bowl games.

5:29 p.m. – The AFC is stopped! They fail to put up a touchdown with Stroud back at the helm.

AFC 59, NFC 64

5:23 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – Flip the switch and it’s an NFC lead once again! Mayfield finds Gibbs for the six points.

AFC 59, NFC 58

5:20 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – Quick work for Minshew and Allen! They combine for a touchdown to lead early in the final quarter. It’s only for one point, though, as the conversion fails.

AFC. 53, NFC 58

5:13 p.m. – Another skills win for the NFC. This time, it’s a tug-of-war victory in two rounds.

End of third quarter: AFC 53, NFC 55

AFC 53, NFC 55

4:50 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – That’s an Oklahoma touchdown. Mayfield connects with his former teammate Lamb for the NFC lead. The now-Cowboy gets his third score of the night. A one-point conversion makes it a two-point lead.

AFC 53, NFC 48

4:52 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – Minshew with his first touchdown of the game! The AFC retakes the lead, though it fails to convert for two extra points.

4:49 p.m. – That’s another turnover for the NFC. Gardner picks it off Smith on 4th and goal to keep Eli Manning’s crew at bay.

AFC 47, NFC 48

4:41 p.m. – The NFC takes the lead after a handful of skills event wins, including Best Catch, Madden head-to-head and two Gridiron Gauntlets.

Halftime: AFC 47, NFC 36

AFC 47, NFC 36

4:09 p.m. – Lamb puts up his second score of the game as time nearly expires. Eli Manning’s squad goes for a one-point conversion, but it’s no good. The NFC is still within striking distance, trailing, of course, by 11.

AFC 47, NFC 30

4:06 p.m. PICK SIX – Smith is intercepted, and Surtain takes it in for the finish! The first pick six of this year’s flag football game goes to the AFC. No brakes for them.

AFC 41, NFC 30

4:03 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – Words that may never be uttered again: Allen has a touchdown pass. He finds Engram deep in the end zone to put up one of the best plays of the game. The AFC goes for the two-point conversion and get it. Another 11-point lead for Peyton Manning and Co.

AFC 33, NFC 30

3:55 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – Don’t get too comfortable. St. Brown makes the touchdown look easy, while Metcalf gets the two-point conversion. The game is within three now.

AFC 33, NFC 22

3:52 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – He’s a rookie, yet it doesn’t get better than Stroud. He finds Chase on a bullseye for the Bengal’s second touchdown of the game. It’s an 11-point lead for the AFC now.

3:48 p.m. – We have an interception! Hurts is picked off in the end zone by a one-handed Denzel Ward to deny the NFC a go-ahead touchdown.

3:45 p.m. – The AFC gets a penalty for the fake blitz, but Ray Lewis argues players are allowed to do so in the changed rules of flag football. No denying the passion from the DC, even as he’s waved off.

AFC 27, NFC 22

3:39 p.m TOUCHDOWN – It takes no time at all for the rookie! He finds Keenan Allen for six.

3:38 p.m. – Stroud steps up for the AFC in their first possession of the second quarter.

AFC 21, NFC 22

3:31 p.m. – It’s a landslide win for the NFC. Three points to Eli Manning.

3:30 p.m. – It’s time to Move the Chains. The competition between the first and second quarter will add three points to the winning conference.

End of first quarter: AFC 21, NFC 19

AFC 21, NFC 19

3:22 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – A quick six to Chase gives AFC the lead!

3:20 p.m. – Lamb to Hurts? The WR to QB combo doesn’t quite work as the ball soars just over the Eagle. A for effort.

3:14 p.m. – As a reminder, each touchdown is worth six points. Teams can add one more point with a five-yard conversion or two points with a 10-yard conversion.

AFC 15, NFC 19

3:10 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – CeeDee for the TD! The NFC retakes the lead with an immediate touchdown and a 10-yard conversion, good for two extra points.

AFC 15, NFC 12

3:08 p.m. TOUCHDOWN – The Dolphins connect right where they left on. Six points on the board for the AFC thanks to Tagovailoa and Hill.

3:05 p.m. – The score begins 12-9 NFC due to results of the skills competition.
