Style Scouting: Vol. 155 – In My Own Style

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

This past week I have been getting inspired for fall. So much so that I bought a new area rug for my living room that I have had my eye on for a couple of years. The price went down so I figured since I still liked it, it was time to finally get it.

Along with that I also found this bowl and pillow cover and a matching basket to one I have at a local furniture store. So stay tuned to see how it all comes together.

If you want to get inspired for fall as you are still enjoying summer, head over to Pottery Barn and browse all their Fall Lookbooks – they have 3- Fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. I always find so much decorating inspiration in these lookbooks.

If you’re not a Pottery Barn fan, head to your favorite online home decorating sites and check out what’s new. Here are a two more: McGee & Co Fall Catalog and Magnolia. You don’t have to buy anything, but browse just to find new ideas on how to style what you already own.

DIY

If you collected shells on vacation or have any around your house, you may like this pretty idea.

Home Building

A very resourceful architect built this amazing house with 12,000 pieces of oak wood flooring. The view from the house is pretty spectacular also.

Fashion & Beauty

I just ordered this affordable fall jacket before it sells out. Now I have to wait for the weather to change.

Fun & Interesting

Life goals! Do you think you will be doing this at age 92?

I enjoy birdwatching, but I don’t think I could do this?

When you have time on your hands or need something to get your mind off of things, check out all the interesting and fun games and more that you can do on your computer via Google’s Art & Culture pages.

Something to Think About

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live only as you can” – I read it on a sign
