Vipp Opens an Intimate Guesthouse in the High Mountains of the Pyrenees

Casa Vipp, the 7th edition of Vipp‘s one-of-a-kind guesthouses, is located in a traditional stone building of Andorra, a tiny country located between France and Spain in the Pyrenees mountains. Historically used for grain or cattle storage, and an architectural symbol of the region, the building in the heart of Andorra la Vella’s old town now welcomes design-savvy travellers in a contemporary home-away-from-home setting.

In collaboration with local design consultancy Bau Studio, Vipp has created its first guesthouse outside of Scandinavia. Peeping into the characteristic porthole windows that in the 1950s turned the small house into an avant-garde building of its time, the eye meets a lodge-style setting fitted with a serene Scandinavian design sensibility brought forth by the Vipp collection. This includes the Vipp Kitchen, products from the Vipp furniture and lighting collections, and of course, the iconic Vipp Bin, where it all began.

Unfolding on the first floor of the 100m2 two-story duplex is an open kitchen connected to a dining and living room with a fireplace, a guest toilet with laundry facilities and a small balcony. Ascending the custom metal staircase guests access the bedroom and large bathroom with an open shower and a freestanding bathtub.

The view from the porthole windows showcases the city centre of one of the smallest countries in the world. Surrounded by 468 sq. km of beautiful valleys and towering peaks located between France and Spain, guests are treated to breathtaking scenery. A dream for nature-lovers, during the winter, this micro-state offers some of the best ski slopes in the Pyrenees. And when the snow melts, it becomes a popular destination for active tourists who want to hike on some of the best trails in Europe.

Casa Vipp, Andorra is now open for bookings. For more information on all of the Vipp Guesthouses take a look here
