The Dolphins will play for the AFC East crown on Sunday night, and there’s no doubt star wide receiver Tyreek Hill is integral to their hopes.
Hill has battled nagging injuries late in the season, even missing a game against the Jets, but he’s now dealing with an even more serious situation after his house went up in flames on Wednesday.
Hill fortunately wasn’t home at the time, but overhead cameras showed smoke billowing out from the roof of the mansion. No one was injured in the blaze.

Tyreek Hill house fire
Hill’s mansion in Southwest Ranches, Fla. caught fire in the early afternoon on Wednesday, requiring a total of 20 units from three different fire departments. The fire was “heavily involved in the attic,” USA Today reported, citing Davie Fire Rescue marshal Robert Taylor.
Hill’s family, including his wife, was in the house when the fire started, but everyone made it out safely and uninjured. The Dolphins informed Hill of the fire during practice, and he left the team’s facility to head home. Cameras caught Hill approaching the house with a walking boot on his left foot.
Dolphins have notified Tyreek Hill of ongoing fire at his home. He’s been in communication with his family and everyone is out and safe. Hill left practice to attend to the matter.

No one had been allowed back inside the house as of the late afternoon, according to USA Today. It’s unclear how much of the home was damaged, though some roof damage from the flames was visible.
Hill purchased the expansive house for $6.9 million in 2022, after he was traded to Miami by the Chiefs.
It’s a best-case scenario with everyone accounted for and unhurt, all things considered, but it’s one more situation for Hill and the Dolphins to grapple with ahead of a massive showdown with the Bills on Sunday. While Miami is already assured of a playoff spot, Sunday’s game is the difference between the No. 2 seed — which comes with home-field advantage through the first two rounds of the playoffs — and having to go to Kansas City as the No. 6 seed.
Hill is the NFL’s leading receiver this season with a career-high 1,717 yards.
